How to bike to/from SAN
There is no problem biking to San Diego International Airport (SAN)! A few safety tips will help you stay safe while biking on the airport campus as well as where and how to properly stow your bike. I've put together a quick guide for you:
CAN EVERYONE BIKE TO THE AIRPORT?
In addition, cyclists who just have backpacks for carry-ons as well as airport workers and contractors who will be finished with their work in the afternoon will find bicycling to SAN to be the perfect option. Our region's airport authority encourages the use of public transit, carpools, and bicycles so we can relieve traffic congestion along our already busy roads. In addition to the San Diego Flyer and Rental Car Center shuttles, the MTS trolley and 992 bus also have bike racks on board.
CAN YOU TELL ME WHERE TO PARK MY BIKE?
A bike locker system was installed on the airport campus in 2011 for the use of the public. As of now, SANDAG has provided two stainless steel bicycle lockers that are available for bicycle storage. We have more than 100 bicycle parking spaces. The keys to these lockers are refundable and can be left overnight upon request. Bicycles can be stored in up to four lockers at a time.

Depending on your preference, you may want to check out our bike racks, which range from red racks to stainless steel circles. When using them, make sure your bike is parked perpendicular (in between) and not parallel. Terminal 2, the USO Center, and the Rental Car Center at SAN offer these services.
ARE THERE BIKE LANES?
With the Harbor Drive bike lanes, you can reach the San Diego airport campus in record time, or you can walk your bike once you arrive and take in the beautiful scenery of the nearby Spanish Landing trail.
The new T1 will have a shared pedestrian and bike path as well as additional parking. While we encourage micro-mobility, scooters and skateboards are not allowed at SAN. SAN on wheels will be a great experience for you.
